Cocoa Compass wins FiE Sustainability Innovation Award
ofi wins Sustainability Innovation Award at Fi Europe
ofi has been awarded the Sustainability Innovation Award at Food Ingredients Europe for the impact driven through our Cocoa Compass sustainability strategy and Impact Report (2023).
Cocoa Compass tracks our progress in sustainable cocoa production using approaches like Natural Capital Accounting and our Farmer Income Tool. It also draws on two decades of experience working with customers and supporting cocoa farmers to build resilience.
How did we get here?
Behind this recognition is a story of collaboration and commitment:
- In 2004, we began our first cocoa sustainability initiative, and our ambitions have grown each year.
- Cocoa Compass was launched in 2019, setting ambitious goals to address key supply chain challenges by 2030.
At Fi Europe’s Sustainability Innovation Award, only 10% of entries reach the finalist stage. The final judging included an in-person presentation to a panel of eleven independent industry experts.
Why this matters
Sustainability is complex, and progress takes time. This award acknowledges advancement—but there’s still more to do. For our customers, it means:
- Unlocked visibility: Cocoa Compass provides insight into key areas like farmer livelihood, climate action, education, and landscape protection.
- Shared commitment: Collaboration with customers and partners drives long-term, positive change for cocoa farmers and their communities.
- Continuous progress: Ongoing innovation improves data collection, traceability, and the effectiveness of sustainability programs.
What’s next?
When you partner with ofi, we help you meet both sustainability goals and consumer expectations. Our work doesn’t stop here. Challenges remain, but so does our commitment.
